

ProtunerPlus is a suite of programmes designed to test, analyse and optimise the performance of industrial regulatory control systems. Over 90% of all control applications are based around the PID algorithm yet less than 30% of loops provide optimal performance.
The reasons are varied and range from incorrect or faulty final control elements, badly designed control strategies or tuning parameters that don't accurately match the dynamics of the process being controlled.
To achieve a world-class control system requires all components within a loop to be working correctly and the loop tuned for optimum performance. ProtunerPlus allows you to gain insights into every component of the control system and where problems exist. When these problems are identified and remedied then the controller is tuned with the precise parameters that accurately match the process dynamics. ProtunerPlus uses dynamic data collected in real time using the Data Acquisition OPC application or imported from a .CSV formatted file. From this dynamic data the ProtunerPlus Analyzer uses sophisticated digital point-to-point Laplace Transform algorithms to accurately identify the true frequency response for the process. Once the frequency response of the process is identified then classic pole cancellation techniques are used to accurately calculate the correct tuning parameters for the controller.
